TERRORISM AND THE SAFETY OF NATION.

September 11, 2001 will go down in history as the Black Tuesday. The foundation of U.S.A was shaken and thousands of people lost their life in the barbaric terrorist attack on the world trade centre on that terrible Tuesday. The terrorist attack on Indian Parliament on December 13th  and Legislate Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir were the great threat on democracy.

Terrorism is the deadliest of all problems the world today faces. Terrorism can be defined as a wild action meant for disrupting normal life and it’s fought for a cause. Terrorism started during the 1960s and it was targeted against states like Israel. There are two types of terrorism one is direct terrorism and another one is indirect. What America does behind the curtain of globalization is an Indirect Terrorism.

There are a few reasons for the growth of terrorism.
1.   Religious Fanaticism
2.   Excessive Nationalism
3.   Regionalism
4.   Fundamentalism
5.   Imperialism
Terrorism poses a clear and present danger to the international community and is a definite assault on democracy and
freedom. Terrorism is a blatant attack by barbarians on civilized societies. Terrorism destroys economic stability of the nations and also international peace.

India is a country which suffers a lot from terrorism. Hundreds of people are killed in various parts of the country. There are number of terrorist groups working in different parts of the world. The Jihad  warriors are trained by Afganistan Pakistan  combine and supported by fundamentalist have radiated outwards to Kashmir, West Asia , Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia  and the European Union.

Hundreds of militant schools in Afganistan produces Jehad fighters. They exist on two principles ,one is intolerance and the second is that they provide purpose in life to young people to take guns.

Terrorists  believe in a monotheistic religion and culture and have a vicious hatred toward s other religion. Terrorists all  too often try to legitimize their cult by recourse to religion. Fundamentalists and opportunists rulers  use organized religion to further their own political agenda that can erode the foundations of a multi-cultural secular nation.
Undoubtedly National Security is very important. Without protecting safety and security of nation , individual rights cannot be protected. For this govt. has to tackle terrorism. How can terrorism be tackled ?
1.   According to K. SARANYAN , the former Secretary of Security, ‘dynamic action should be taken.’
2.   According to K.P.S GILL , the former D.G.P of Punjab , ‘govt. must go for the kill.’
3.   According to D.R. KARTHIKEYEN , the former Director  of C.B.I, ‘laws must be changed.’
The fight against terrorism is not against any religion; it is to bring the perpetrators of these heinous acts to justice. Action must not just be taken against Osama Binladan , Alquida and the Taliban, but against any individual or group that perpetuates and abets race-hate , casteism, communalism and anti-national interests and policies.
Remember , we are not fighting against a particular faith or culture of people; but we are fighting for the right to live freely and in peace. We are fighting for the right to ‘ enduring freedom and infinite justice.’

POEM

                 NEVER CAN I BID YOU GOODBYE

Never can i bid thee goodbye
How deep you rooted in my conscious
Dew of my desert;
Sweet of my bitterness;
Queen of my dreams;
How deep I long your nearness
The comfort of my soul
Never can i forget thee

Come lass....come
I search you in my wilderness
Let me feel thy breast
Upon my chest and its warmth
As on a cool starry night
Come my love …come
Let me taste again
The nectar in thy rosy lips .

POEM

        HOLY FATHER : A TRIBUTE
' Holy Father ' , called many
Indeed Holy Father , true of virtues
Came from quary to catch men for peter
Breaking the stones, carrying the stones
Heard the cry of the people, indeed
Heard God crying in them for souls.
" Amen", said he, follwed Him.
Compassionate, ever forgiving, love to all;
Heaven bloomed in his smile
Angels came down in his words
The world bends head in humility,honour
As trees bending the branches with fruits
World listened, welcomed as flower to the sun
Cloud to the nornhill, rain to the parched hill .
" o Youth" said he " I love you all " .
Yes true ! Pope of the youth; oh not
The saint of the youth.
No religion , but love , his religion
No principles, but only Eucharistiya.
Blessed of the blesseds, blessed ;
The Shepherd of the shepherd , guided.
He lives and will live forever,
The shepherd of peace.

POEM

               BUTTERFLY
I saw a shadow of her  walking on the road
I didn't know who she was
Later I came to know she was a Butterfly
I walked by her side.. but
The Butterfly had just flown off
Without observing the honey plant .
The butterfly added wings to my dreams
Once we met each other
She greeted me with a smile
Her smiling  speared into   my heart
Soon we became friends
She becamea silent ache of mine
She bloomed in my heart
As an overnight sensation
She filled my days with joy and smiles
Yet... she couldn't feel my silence
  --'the silence of my heart.'
